Registration Open for Webinar on Hydroponic Production

Registration is now open for “Basics of Hydroponic Production,” a new webinar series from Penn State University that explores system design, lighting, nutrients, pest management, microgreens, food safety, and more pertaining to hydroponics. 

The webinar is designed for hobby and commercial vegetable growers, extension educators, new and prospective hydroponic growers, specialty crop consultants, and teachers and students interested in horticulture or agriculture. 

‘Basics of Hydroponic Production’ Topics 

Webinar participants will learn: 

  • Best practices for food safety, including practical guidance on sanitation and handling 
  • How to identify and manage common pest and disease issues in hydroponic systems 
  • The essentials of soilless production, including system types, lighting, and nutrient management 
  • The fundamentals of producing high-quality microgreens. 

“Basics of Hydroponic Production” is divided into five one-hour sessions that take place on Wednesdays starting Feb. 18, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. EST. For additional information on the course schedule and topics covered, and to register for the series, please visit the course listing found on the Penn State Extension website.
