Upcoming: Hybrid Course for High-Wire Tomato Production

Starting in November, the Ohio Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (OHCEAC) will host a hybrid training program for Dutch-style high-wire tomato production and climate/crop management in greenhouse environments. Online courses will be held over the course of four weeks, followed by a two-day, hands-on training program at the Controlled Environment Agriculture Research Complex (CEARC) at the Ohio State University (OSU) in Columbus, Ohio.

Key topics covered include:

  • Greenhouse tomato production physiology
  • Technologies and practices of greenhouse tomato crop production
  • Basic horticultural scientific principles into better understanding greenhouse tomato production systems and technologies.

Dates of the live Zoom lectures:

  • Thursday, Nov. 6, from 6-8 p.m. EST.
  • Monday, Nov. 10, from 6-8 p.m. EST.
  • Thursday, Nov. 13, from 6-8 p.m. EST.
  • Monday, Nov. 17, from 6-8 p.m. EST.
  • Thursday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m. EST.
  • Monday, Nov. 24, from 6-8 p.m. EST.
  • Monday, Dec. 1, from 6-8 p.m. EST.

The optional in-person training program will be held on Dec. 4 and Dec. 5. Registration is now open, and it costs $400 to enroll.
