Registration Open for the 2026 Greenhouse Tomato Academy

From the Ohio Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (OHCEAC), registration is now open for the Greenhouse Tomato Academy (GHTA), a learning opportunity focused on Dutch-style, high-wire tomato production in controlled environments. The training course will run for seven weeks (June 4–July 16), along with an optional two-day, hands-on greenhouse tomato training session (August 10–11).
2026 Greenhouse Tomato Academy: Online Lectures
This seven-week part of the training course is delivered online, with recorded lectures allowing participants to learn at their own pace. Participants will learn about:
- Crop management
- Disease control
- Grafting propagation
- Integrate pest management
- Nutrient solution design and recirculation
- Tomato crop physiology
- And more.
Additionally, the online course will offer four live discussion sessions for real-time engagement with instructors and fellow participants.
2026 Greenhouse Tomato Academy: Optional Hands-On Learning
For those with an interest in learning through doing, this hands-on learning component is only available to students who have completed the online portion of the course and features the following in-person greenhouse activities:
- Crop registration
- Fruit harvest and quality analysis
- Data collection and interpretation
- Irrigation and nutrient management
- Sensor management
- And more.
