The University of Arizona’s Controlled Environment Agriculture Center will be holding the 25th annual Greenhouse Crop Production & Engineering Design Short Course. Running from Wednesday, April 15, to Friday, April 17, this three-day online and in-person hybrid event will be centered on the theme of “Sustainability and Innovation in CEA.” For beginners, enthusiasts, and specialists across the industry, the course is an opportunity to witness new technologies and research-backed developments in food production, along with the chance to network with like-minded experts from around the country. 

Each day of the short course is as follows:

2026 CEAC Short Course Day 1

Day 1 will cover the basics of hydroponic plant production, including:

  • Efficient environmental control.
  • Greenhouse structure and glazing design options.
  • Plant nutrient and pest control requirements for soilless culture.

2026 CEAC Short Course Day 2

Day 2 will feature experienced producers as speakers, covering:

  • Complementary systems that support sustainability.
  • Data-driven resources in greenhouses.
  • Organic herb production.
