Premier Tech has announced the launch of Premier Tech Controlled Culture, bringing together the full scope of the company’s technology portfolio to deliver vertical farming solutions across North America and Europe.
The entry into this new industry is supported by two asset-based acquisitions: Inno-3B, a Canada-based manufacturer of automated, modular vertical farming systems, and Artechno, from the Netherlands, also a supplier of vertical farming solutions, water filtration and disinfection systems, as well as irrigation systems.
“Vertical farming, or totally controlled environment agriculture, represents one of the most significant opportunities to address the environmental pressure and challenges the global food supply chain is facing,” said Jean Bélanger, president and CEO of Premier Tech, in a release.
Eric Diamond, who leads the new Premier Tech Controlled Culture initiative, added: “By combining these proven technologies with Premier Tech’s global strengths in horticulture, automation, wastewater management, biological, and digital solutions, we are uniquely positioned to serve the CEA market at scale and accelerate innovation across the industry with sustainable production methods using less water, chemical fertilizers, and pesticides.”
