The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) and the Aquacultural Engineering Society (AES) have announced the formalization of a strategic partnership aimed at accelerating technical innovation and professional growth within the aquatic engineering sector.

This collaborative framework leverages ASABE’s leadership in engineering standards and professional infrastructure with AES’s expertise in the rapidly evolving field of aquaculture.

A cornerstone of this agreement is the ability for AES to leverage ASABE’s prestigious status as an ANSI-accredited standards development organization. The two societies have committed to the joint development of new technical standards beginning in 2027. This initiative will provide the industry with the rigorous, consensus-based framework necessary to implement emerging technologies safely and efficiently across global aquatic systems.

To foster cross-disciplinary collaboration, the partnership introduces a new joint-membership incentive. Members of both ASABE and AES will now be eligible for reciprocal discounts on membership in the partner organization. This initiative is designed to break down professional silos, allowing engineers to access a broader range of technical journals, conference programming, and networking opportunities across both societies.
