The “When Blue is Green” project from Purdue University is conducting a survey that seeks feedback from U.S. aquaponic producers.
What is the “When Blue is Green” Project?
According to the project’s mission statement, the goal of the “When Blue is Green” project, co-led by Purdue University and The Ohio State University (OSU), is “to increase local and regional production of seafood” through the research and development of “an environmentally sustainable and economically viable food production system using aquaponics.”
Details on the “When Blue is Green” Project Survey
According to Purdue, the goal of the study is “to better understand the practices, challenges, and perspectives of aquaponic producers,” in order to improve training, resources, and support for the industry.
Eligible participants include:
- Individuals working within the aquaponics industry (consultants, educators, and other related professionals).
- Aquaponics producers with active systems in the U.S. (profit or non-profit).
Participation in the study is completely voluntary, and all responses will be kept confidential and used solely for research purposes.
