AeroFarms has announced additional updates to its current funding and operational timeline regarding its Virginia facility.
In a WARN notice filed with the Virginia Department of Workforce Development on Jan. 14, AeroFarms reported that, in the event the company is unable to secure a long-term funding solution, its expected shutdown date has been pushed to Feb. 27, 2026. As we’ve previously reported, this is the second timeline extension reported by AeroFarms, with a previous WARN notice declaring the closure date being moved from Dec. 19, 2025, to Jan. 16, 2026.
Beyond the shifting timeline, the main update in the new WARN notice is the clarification and revision of employee headcounts and timing. The notice announces that 16 (primarily remote) employees remain temporarily furloughed, and that the remaining 127 employees will be terminated if the facility closes on Feb. 27, 2026.
