During the last two weeks of September, Ohio State University (OSU) will offer six online courses on soilless strawberry production for greenhouses and vertical farms. Geared towards new CEA growers who are interested in strawberry production, the courses will cover strawberry physiology, cultivar selection, production practices, and systems.
Instructors Chieri Kubota, Ph.D., director of the Ohio Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (OHCEAC), and Mark Kroggel, CEA lecturer at OSU, will lecture from 4-6:30 p.m. EST on Thursday, Sept. 18, and Thursday, Sept. 25. The first three courses will be taught the first week, and the remaining three will be taught the following week. To allow for asynchronous viewing, recordings will be available within 24 hours following the live presentation — participants have until Thursday, Oct. 9, to finish the course and earn a completion certificate.
The course fee is $225, and the deadline to enroll is Monday, Sept. 15. To learn more about OSU’s Strawberry School and to register, go here: https://ohceac.osu.edu/strawberry-school-online.
