Ruchika Kashyap, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist - Urban & Controlled Environment Plant Pathology of University of Georgia

Dr. Ruchika Kashyap works with diverse host-pathogen-environment systems to better understand and manage plant disease challenges, with a focus on oomycete and fungal pathogens in urban and controlled environments. Her current research examines how production systems, substrate type, and environmental conditions influence the severity and spread of plant diseases in controlled environment agriculture (CEA) grown edibles. Building on these insights, the Kashyap Lab develops integrated disease management strategies emphasizing biological control and sanitation practices. As an Extension Specialist, Kashyap leads educational and training programs designed to translate scientific research into practical, actionable solutions for growers.
